Meet the first Symbol builders
The first Symbol Hackathon is finished, and now that the dust is settling, it’s a good moment for looking back and recapping a little bit. The #PoweringPossibility hackathon was launched for blockchain developers interested in building Hybrid, Tokenization, Interoperability and more solutions to further explore Symbol’s technology.
The hackathon offered $22.000 in xem prizes, and attracted over 430 participants, 20 submitted projects and 7 finalists!
Submissions were reviewed by our judges and were judged based on the following criteria:
- Performance
- Real-World usefulness
- Documentation & Quality
- Design
Without further ado, the winners of the 1st Powering Possibility Hackathon are:
1st place — Minty
Project: Easily mint NFTs (3D digital cards) on top of the symbol blockchain.
2nd place — SYMBOL in the NFT space
Project: Market of digital arts in SYMBOL wallet.
3rd place — EstateUp
Project: A Symbol-powered digital will solution.
Thanks again to everyone who participated in the hackathon and everyone who collaborated to make it happen. We would also like to take a moment to recognize all participants who showed interest, to our panel of great mentors and judges and to all community members.

We’ve already contacted the winners, and we’ll give them their prizes shortly. We will be looking to run more hackathons in the future to encourage more and more developers to engage and build on Symbol. Good luck, everybody, for the next one!
